The project is funded by NDRCC（National Disaster Reduction Center of China），and aims at constructing the social science response system towards mega disasters in China. Disaster is not only natural phenomenon, but has complex social impacts. Therefore, we should study the disaster through different social science disciplines, including sociology, economics, politic science, public management, psychology, etc. The project will try to combine different disciplines into a comprehensive response system, which will provide rapid support to the policy maker when mega disaster hit. The project started in 2008 and will last for three years.
