Abstract: Government support to strategic alliance for industrial technology innovation is indispensable because of complexity and nature of a quasi-public goods of the industrial generic technologies and of distresses suffered by the alliance in cooperative innovation. The article classifies the alliances into eight groups according to three dimensions with differences in the features of alliance’s internal members. It also suggests that government should provide different supports to different types of alliances.
