HU Zhijian graduated from Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) with a PhD degree in Innovation and Management. He has worked in CAS since 1987 and in Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) since 1993. He was former Deputy Director General, Department of Policy, Regulations and Reform and former Counsel, Executive Office in MOST. He has worked as General secretary of the CPC Committee of CASTED since 2009 and as President of CASTED since 2014. He is also functioning as Secretary General of China Federation of Scientific and Technological Institutes, Vice Chairman of China Law Association on Science and Technology, and Governing Board Member of World Economic Forum.
