Abstract: In recent years, foreign and domestic disaster management practice have showed that after the major disaster, the Post-disaster Need Evaluation should be conducted immediately to provide the timely, comprehensive and accurate information for the rescue. On April 20th, 2013, it exposed the problems again of the limited understanding of the affected residents in Ya'an Earthquake. As a result, to improve Chinese rescue ability, this paper suggests to bring the Post-disaster Need Evaluation into China's disaster response system.
