Abstract: The current loss and inefficiency in the agriculture technology promoting system have become a bottleneck to advancement of agriculture technology. Through cooperation with local government in the program of “Cooperation between the Institute and Counties”, Hubei Institute of Agriculture Sciences initiates a successful pilot program in promoting commercialization of research results and building new system for agriculture technology promotion. Other institutes in China may also draw on its successful experiences. Based on the field survey, the report recommends promoting agriculture S&T innovation and commercialization of research results through exploring the possibilities of establishing new model of agriculture promotion led by local agriculture institutes, reforming management and evaluation mechanism of agriculture S&T talents at basic level, and attracting social capital into the promotion system.
