Abstract: From October 2011 to May 2012, 13 Chinese civilians were killed on Mekong river, which caused the highly attention of the greater Mekong region by the world. This paper analyses the strategic importance and the relevant contradictions of China's cooperative development in Mekong subregion, then it gives some policy suggestions.
