Abstract: To better understand China's national innovation ability, this paper analyses the indicators that formed the national indicator index. It points out that national innovation index consists of scale indicator, intensity indicator, structure indicator and relative indicator. Based on this classification, this paper gives a basic judgement of China's national innovation ability. According to the characteristic of the China's national innovation ability, this paper gives suggestions on how to strengthen it.
