Abstract: China-ASEAN Free Trade Area has been established and started totally in 2010. The Greater Mekong Subregion is among the five preferred areas for building the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area. Positive progresses made in several areas since the start of GMS cooperation mechanism provide many scholars in China with the opportunities to study the issues more thoroughly. The article gives a systematic review of the studies carried out by scholars in China. By summarizing the progresses and achievement of Yunnan in the GMS cooperation, it identifies ten topics need further studies.
