Research Strength

CASTED is a state-owned institute with 100 positions. Under the people oriented and two-way selected principles, CASTED staffs are allocated to different positions according to functions and research projects. We provide researchers with sufficient development space, respecting both knowledge and talents.

By 2008, 32 researchers in CASTED have got doctoral degrees and 33 masters, accounting for 77.4% of the total personnel. There are also 44 senior researchers (with 31 associate) and 32 mid-level researchers.

On team building, CASTED sticks to the principle of “micro cores and macro networks”, and create an open exchange platform by establishing cooperation bases and structuring organizational networks. In main research fields, we set up expert databases, mobilize researchers, and attract domestic and international scholars.

To facilitate talent cultivation and discipline progress, CASTED enrolls doctoral candidates, jointly with some Chinese key universities, for example, University of Science and Technology of China.. CASTED also joins hands with some universities and institutes such as Chinese Academy of Sciences, to implement graduate programs. These programs are aimed at cultivating high-level talents in S & T policies and management. Moreover, every year, scholars from home and abroad come to CASTED for short-term visits and joint research.

In July 2008, approved by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, CASTED had the privilege of offering post-doctoral positions, which will further promote the attraction and cultivation of high level research talent.
